Deal Confirms PocketDoctor As Europe's Number One Wireless Medical Service…
HealthAmigo.com Ltd announced today that it has signed a deal to provide its PocketDoctor group of products to Genie (www.genie.co.uk),†the UK’s market-leading mobile internet service.
HealthAmigo announced the World's first range of WAP* medical information services under the brand name PocketDoctor in July.† From anywhere in the world, consumers now have access to 'a doctor in your pocket'† - medical information and services ranging from analysis of medical symptoms to emergency health advice.
POCKETDOCTOR currently has three services that it will provide to Genie:
DoctorQ - A service devised by Dr Phil Hammond, from TV's "Trust Me I'm A Doctor", outlining the questions you should ask your doctor in specific situations.
Health-E-Ref - This is a brand new medical encyclopedia, written by Dr Michael Apple, specifically for HealthAmigo.† It contains easy to find and understand explanations of a wide range of medical conditions, searchable alphabetically or by body zone.
Symptom Analyser - This will give patients an analysis of symptoms associated with a wide range of illnesses.† It is broken down into body zones and suggests possible explanations of these symptoms categorised as COMMON, POSSIBLE and RARE.
New products, currently under development, will be added under the PocketDoctor brand early next year. These will be available via WAP, SMS and via the PocketDoctor Internet site which is also available through the Genie website.
Rob Wilson managing director, HealthAmigo.com Ltd, said: "Genie and PocketDoctor both have very strong brands with strong usership figures and today's deal is beneficial to both networks. PocketDoctor" benefits from receiving increased traffic and Genie benefits from receiving compelling, trusted content."
Laurence Alexander, managing director of Genie UK added, “This alliance with HealthAmigo fits well with Genie's strategy of offering our customers compelling and interactive content to both fixed and mobile devices on the web and via WAP. We expect this to be a popular service in these times of increasing health awareness.”
All the information provided has been checked by HealthAmigo's medical and ethical committee, led by Dr Michael Apple and Dr Phil Hammond - both practising doctors.
