Br-Asian and Pocket Group launch mobile content for Asian youth
Premium content platform Br-Ringing latest British Asian content to mobiles
Br-Asian & The Pocket Group have launched a new music mobile venture under the brand Br-Asian Mobile that will deliver the latest British Asian content to consumers. Br-Asian Mobile is positioned to become the leading player within the sector and has already gained support from across the British Asian music industry. The content platform includes Truetones, polyphonic ringtones, video clips, wallpapers and related content from some of the UK 's leading Asian artists such as Nitin Sawhney, Punjabi MC, Raghav, Radio 1’s Bobby & Nihal, Rishi Rich, Bally Sagoo, Zeus and DJ Sanj.
Moiz Vas , the Managing Director of Br-Asian Media Consulting, said, "The British-Asian youth market has the highest mobile phone penetration of any UK market and now BritAsian music is spilling into the mainstream music culture with artists getting top-ten records in the mainstream national charts. The Asian music industry is starting to realise the monetary potential of mobile content. This is clearly shown by the tremendous support we have received from the industry. We are working closely with leading Asian labels such as EnvyRoma, Nachural Records, Ishq Records, OSA, as well as V2 and BMG and are promoting Br-Asian Mobile services related to their artists through record sleeve inserts, TV adverts and press. Our content and artists will also be exposed to a much wider market through distribution deals already signed with the major UK mobile operators.
Br-Asian believes the new joint service with the Pocket Group offers the most comprehensive range of British-Asian music and related mobile content currently available to the British-Asian youth market.
Daryn Wober , International Licensing Director for the Pocket Group, said, "The British-Asian youth space is a huge and largely untapped market which offers great potential for many new mobile and related services. Our longstanding relationships
with the mobile operators has already allowed us to sign content syndication deals with UK operators including Orange & O2 where Br-Asian Mobile will play a major role in the development of their Asian content and services. Working closely with Br-Asian and individual artists, we are also developing a range of exclusive content simply not available through any other channels.”
In addition, Br-Asian Mobile has signed a deal with the British Asian Music Awards (BrAMAs) which will be broadcast on ITV1 to deliver unique premium content including exclusive collaborations, back stage images & video clips to their users.
An advertising campaign will begin on Zee Music during the early part of October leveraging Br-Asian’s relationships with Popular Asian Artists within the advertisements. A Br-Asian Mobile ring-tone chart will be published weekly in association with Eastern Eye beginning mid October.
